Much brighter! Longer life! |
We have always thought it
would be so wonderful to be able to use a Halogen bulb in a battery powered
stereo viewer, as it would be brighter and have a longer life than the
No. 245 bulb. On a trip overseas we found a Halogen bulb with the correct
voltage and a miniature screw base. We were excited to find that it was
noticeably brighter, with a longer life than the No. 245 bulb.
Unfortunately, although the screw base is the same size as the No. 245 and No. 14 bulbs that we are used to, the glass part of the bulb is blown with a nipple protruding at the top. Therefore IT WILL NOT WORK IN ALL VIEWERS (including the Stereo Realist Red Button viewer) unless you are willing to do some modification. But IT WILL WORK in the popular Kodaslide I or II with the 110V module removed. VIEWERS THAT IT WILL WORK IN ARE: Arrme Stereoscope; Brumberger; Delta; Kodaslide I & II; Photax (UK); realist ST-62 (Green Button); Realist ST-63 (Handi-Viewer); Revere; Star-D; Stereograms (UK); Stereo Graphic; Stitz; TDC Vivid Deluxe; Universal Stere'all; View-Master Model C light attachment; View-Master Model E light attachment; Wollensak. VIEWERS THAT IT WILL NOT WORK IN ARE: Airequipt Stereo Theatre; Arcadia; Busch Verascope; Duplex Deluxe; Iloca; Life-Like; Linex, Realist ST-61 (Red Button); Roto-Vuer; Sterling; Stereolist (UK); TDC Standard; View-Master Model D; View-Master Model F; View-Master Model H. Technical Specifications: 2.5 Volts, 0.8 amps, 23 Lumens, Miniature Screw Base. Rated life of 25 hours at 2.5 Volts. |
