"The
World at War - 1914" This CD-ROM is, in fact, the equivalent of a 3-D
slide show, with professional writing, narration, sound and sound effects.
The quality of the images and the anaglyph conversion are as superb
as any we have seen. Set to FULL SCREEN mode we were able to sit back
about 24" from our 15" monitor and enjoy a truly high quality 3-D experience!
Tony Shapps of the Widescreen
Centre in London said that this "...is one of the most fascinating CD's
that I have ever watched. If you thought that stereoscopic 3-D photography
was something from the modern era - think again! This new release .
. . is one of the most evocative historical documents that I have seen.
It's not so much the horror of the 1914 war, this is more implied than
shown, but the abject squalor of the conditions that comes through.
Now all of this was bad enough in those old discoloured photos, but
now you can actually see images from 'the war to end all wars' IN DEPTH.
It adds a whole new dimension (if you'll excuse the pun) to one of the
saddest episodes of the last century."
Along with pictures of the
locations, the soldiers, and the trenches, there is the military equipment,
tanks, a the shell of a downed zeppelin, and much much more. In all
there are 68 fascinating images, which are presented in a 6 minute program.
It may not sound like a lot, but it really IS, and we are sure you will
enjoy the show!
2 Mini Red/Cyan 3-D Glasses
are included. If you want more durable wearable glasses we suggest our
