NiSSIN 5200G Electronic Flash for Stereo Cameras
	If your first question is whether this is our recommendation for a good, portable, all-round great flash for use on your stereo camera, it isn't. For that, we suggest that you go to your local camera shop and buy a Vivitar 283. However, for special occasions such as weddings, family get-togethers, or big events, where a stronger light output is desired, this is the one we recommend. Over the years we have been asked what would be a good and powerful flash to use with 3-D cameras (Stereo Realist, Kodak Stereo, Revere, Wollensak, etc.). We knew what we wanted in a flash, and finally found one that meets all of our criteria. We wanted Power. The more powerful the flash, the smaller the working aperture, and the greater the depth-of-field that is possible. The Nissin 5200G hat a high Guide Number of 170 (ft.). In Auto mode this means that for ASA 100 film you can shoot at f/11 in the 2.5-13 foot range, f/5.6 in the 3.5-26 foot range, and f/2.8 in the 5-53 foot range. You can also choose manual operation at full power (with 5 apertures indicated) or manual at 1/16th power. We wanted a Handle Mount Design. This type of design (often called "Potato Mashers" by pros) is usually reserved for the more powerful flash units, and it makes even more sense for 3-D cameras which generally do not have standard hot-shoes, or any accessory shoe at all. This flash has its own bracket that is attached to the camera by the tripod socket. The electrical connection is made by a wire called "PC cord" to the camera (PC adapters are required for most stereo cameras). A bonus is that the flash also becomes a handle for the camera, on the right or left side, making it easier to hold. The Nissin 5200G also features a quick release bracket, which may be left on the camera while the main part of the flash is removed. We wanted Ease-of-Use. The Nissin has simple and very straightforward controls, with easy-to-read tables. Whether you choose Manual or Auto operation, it is easy to determine what aperture should be used on the camera. We wanted Value. We wanted all of these features in a handle mount flash for under $250. The Nissin 5200G meets all of our requirements, and we think that you will find it an excellent value for the price. Stereo Realist Flash Adapter also fits Revere & Wollensak cameras
	This adapter, modified by Reel 3-D, will slip into the hot-shoe on top of your Stereo Realist, Revere or Wollensak stereo cameras, and allow you to use a modern electronic flash unit. With the adapter, you plug in the PC (circular) plug on a cord that is a standard option with most flash units. The hot shoe on the bottom of your flash will NOT work – you must connect to the adapter with a cord and a PC plug.  The adapter has a non-hot shoe on top to mount a flash or other accessory. For stability we suggest the use of a separate “L” bracket to hold your flash unit.

Kodak Stereo Flash Adapter
	This adapter converts the ASA Bayonet Mount on the Kodak stereo camera to a standard PC outlet. This will allow the use of any modern electronic flash unit which has an optional PC cord and plug to connect to the adapter. A hot shoe flash alone will not work.  Since there is no shoe on the Kodak Stereo Camera, we recommend that you buy an “L” bracket at your local camera store, on which you can mount your flash unit.  The adapter may be left on the camera, but must be removed for rewinding the film.

Since our 40+ year old stereo cameras don’t have built-in meters we were intrigued.   We have found this meter to be accurate, easy-to-use, and full of features that we like. It can take both reflected and incident readings (with it’s built in sliding diffuser) and uses a standard 9 Volt battery (not included). Case and strap are included.   Over the years we’ve really been pleased with our improved exposures (especially in difficult light situations). If you’ve been searching for a meter that’s easy, and accurate, this is the one!
