Following the great success
of "California in Depth" is the latest
3-D history from Chronicle Books. Scores of profusely illustrated books
about the Civil War have been written, but none have taken advantage of
the fact that virtually all of the original images were taken as Stereoscopic
views.
"Civil War in Depth" does not overlook
this fact. It's 120 pages are filled with more than 100 rare and powerful
stereoview images of the Civil War. 12 Sections detail the war and the
stereo photographers of the era. This is the first book on the Civil War
utilizing the dramatic stereoscopic views of the 1860's by Matthew Brady
and others. The text is fascinating, the stereoviews compelling. We are
extremely impressed by the quality and content of this book. A stereoscopic
print viewer is included. |
