Thank you for the nice notice that you have put on the web site regarding Paul Wing. We have known him since the 1979 PSA Convention in Hartford, CT, where Paul ran the stereo den, and also put on an amazing display of his stereoscopes collection. He was an an enthusiastic supporter of Reel 3-D since the beginning, and we were privileged to be among the proofreaders of his "Stereoscopes" book while it was being written. He would send us a chapter as he finished one, and we would make comments, corrections and suggestions, and send them back. Just between us, even at that time he had
some doubts about his health, so we were quite happy, as he was also, when the book was completed. It is a wonderful book!!!! and there will probably never be another that comes close in covering this particular aspect of stereoscopy - the history of the 1st 100 years of the stereoscope itself. He was a dear and interesting friend, a true missionary in spreading the gospel of stereoscopy (we should correct that to say "really GOOD stereoscopy"), and really a giant in this field, both literally and figureatively!! We will miss him, too. Susan Pinsky & David Starkman Reel 3-D Enterprises, Inc. |
